Hi, I’m Lely Triastiti, also known as Lely Tree. I live in East Kalimantan on the island of Borneo, Indonesia, where the warm tropical climate, coastal landscapes, delicious seafood, and multicultural community shape my everyday world. My illustration style is bright and playful, with a special love for children’s storytelling and educational content, from general knowledge and biographies to fun, engaging topics. As a Muslim, I’m also drawn to creating stories for children that reflect the values I live by every day.
I studied software engineering and business, which still influences how I approach my creative work in a structured and thoughtful way, especially when developing compositions and visual storytelling. My process usually begins with mixed-media sketches, where I freely explore ideas before bringing them to life digitally as lively and engaging illustrations.
Much of my inspiration comes from everyday life, my family, and my cultural background. When I’m not drawing, I enjoy creating art and craft videos for children on my YouTube channel, Kreasi Rupa Rupi. I also love watching movies with my children, taking Pilates classes, and playing with the stray cats that have made our terrace their home.
